Delegates staying on to attend the 26th<\/sup>ICDE World Conference<\/a>, 13 – 16 October 2015, at Sun City in North West Province may want to plan a little sightseeing over the weekend. You are responsible for planning your own schedule, but we provide a few links to assist with identifying options. <\/p>\n

Things to see<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Guide to South Africa<\/a> web site provides an excellent list of tourist attractions. However, if you are planning to travel by road, we recommend that you focus on:\n<\/p>\n

  3. Attractions in North West Province<\/a> which are within travelling distance to Sun City<\/a> situated close to Rustenburg<\/a>\n<\/li>\n

    Sun City is situated approximately 2 hour’s drive from OR Tambo International Airport. Driving from Vanderbijlpark to Sun City will take about 2 hours and 50 minutes.\n<\/p>\n

    The best option is to book rental cars from OR Tambo International airport, either on your way to the OERu meetings or on return to the airport.\n<\/p>\n

    The official travel agent<\/a> for the ICDE Conference may be able to assist and advise on options for travel from the Airport to Sun City.\n<\/p>\n

    Please consult the general safety tips<\/a> before planning your sightseeing trips. For example, Hitchhicking to Sun City from Vanderbijlpark is not advised :-).\n<\/p>\n
