Referring to a chosen image, write a short descriptive sentence for each of the elements.\n<\/p>\n<p>Examples: \u201cThe work uses a majority of organic shapes\u201d and \u201cIt uses the complimentary colors yellow and violet for contrast\u201d. You could use a 1-5 scale to rate the importance of a particular element for the work of art you chose. If you do not see an element represented in your chosen work of art, say &#8220;none present&#8221;. Remember to be objective in your description and do <b>not<\/b> refer to the subject matter, your perceived meaning of the work, the artist or anything that is not visible in the image itself.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"objectives\" src=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/art101\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru_course\/idevices\/Icon_objectives.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>Objective Description and Subjective Analysis<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Using the links provided, or any of your choice, objectively describe two compositions and your subjective reaction to each of them. Here are two possible compositions you can use for this learning challenge:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Image 1: John Singleton Copley\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nga.gov\/feature\/watson\/watsonhome.shtm\">Watson and the Shark<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>Image 2: Judy Pfaff\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/www.georgetowncollege.edu\/galleries\/jacobs-gallery\/the-collection\/pieces\/untitled-3\/\">Untitled.<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>What kind of visual balance is used in each?\n<\/li>\n<li>How does the balance affect the composition?\n<\/li>\n<li>Explain how effective each work is in terms of unity and variety.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Example: \u201cThere is variety in the colors used, but they are mostly analogous to each other, and that creates a unity in the overall effect\u201d. Be specific and include any links or images that help support your answers.
