An entrepreneur can be defined as:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> A person who starts, organizes, and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. <sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\n<\/li>\n<li> Someone who exercises initiative by organizing a venture to take benefit of an opportunity and, as the decision maker, decides what, how, and how much of a good or service will be produced.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>\n<\/li>\n<li> A person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup>\n<\/li>\n<li> A person who is willing and able to convert a new idea or invention into a successful innovation.<sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a nutshell, we can see that entrepreneurs\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> start businesses\n<\/li>\n<li> take financial risks, and\n<\/li>\n<li> are innovative\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"reading\" class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"reading\" src=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/bman111\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru_course\/idevices\/Icon_reading.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>Required reading<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><b>Readings are really important for your learning.<\/b> They are a key part of any OERu course, so do make time to read any of the suggested articles, in a comfortable space, maybe with paper and a pen, in case you want to make notes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/courses.lumenlearning.com\/boundless-management\/chapter\/entrepreneurship:\">&#8220;Introduction to Entrpreneurship&#8221;<\/a>.
