Although you can choose to keep your hypothes.is notes private, we encourage you to share them publicly to help create a resource bank of annotated reports for your fellow learners.\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> If you have not already done so, follow the <a href=\"\/ccom101\/learning-pathways\/orientation\/website-annotations\" title=\"Writing for business success\/CCOM101\/Orientation\/Annotations\">instructions on annotating web pages<\/a> to create your own hypothes.is account and activate the hypothes.is browser buttons.\n<\/li>\n<li> Search on the internet for a report produced by a business that interests you.\n<ul>\n<li> Try to choose a report that is between 5 and 25 pages long.\n<\/li>\n<li> Remember to use the internet browser where you have installed the hypothes.is extension or bookmarklet.\n<\/li>\n<li> If you are not sure where to look for a suitable report, here are some suggestions:\n<ul>\n<li> Search for the website of a large, well-known company, and look for the page where they display their annual reports or &#8216;information for investors&#8217;.\n<\/li>\n<li> Search for the website of a government department, especially one connected with business, and look for reports they have published.\n<\/li>\n<li> Use the name of a particular type of report, such as &#8216;feasibility report&#8217; or &#8216;case study&#8217;, in your search.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> Review the style, layout and content of the report, bearing in mind what you have been learning about reports and effective communication.\n<\/li>\n<li> Create a <b>page note<\/b> with hypothes.is, and type in brief answers to the following questions:\n<ul>\n<li> What is the topic and purpose of this report?\n<\/li>\n<li> Is it formal or informal? How do you know?\n<\/li>\n<li> Is it informational or analytical? How do you know?\n<\/li>\n<li> Who are the intended audience and the other main stakeholders for this report?\n<ul>\n<li> Tag your page note with two separate tags: <b>CCOM101<\/b> and <b>reports<\/b>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> Create <b>annotations<\/b> with hypothes.is to identify and comment briefly on each of the following:\n<ul>\n<li> All the different elements of the report (e.g. table of contents, evaluation, recommendations, conclusion etc.).\n<\/li>\n<li> Sentences or paragaphs which indicated to you who the various stakeholders are.\n<\/li>\n<li> Three examples of <i>good writing<\/i> for this context (refer back to the learning materials on <a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/Writing_for_Business_Success\/Effective_business_writing\/Good_writing\" title=\"Writing for Business Success\/Effective business writing\/Good writing\">Good writing<\/a> if you need a reminder of the elements of good writing).\n<\/li>\n<li> Three examples of <b>non-verbal<\/b> communication techniques within the report (for example, images, font, style of publication etc.) and what message you think these are intended to give to the reader.\n<ul>\n<li> Tag each of your annotations with two separate tags: <b>CCOM101<\/b> and <b>reports<\/b>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> When you have finished, search hypothes.is for other content that is tagged with <b>CCOM101<\/b> and <b>reports<\/b> &#8211; this is how you will find other reports that your fellow learners have found and commented on.\n<ul>\n<li> Look at one or two of these and compare them with your own report.\n<\/li>\n<li> Make one or two constructive comments in response to their annotations.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li> You can see an example of an annotated report <a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/4\/45\/BAI-Business-Agility-Report-2019.pdf\" class=\"internal\" title=\"BAI-Business-Agility-Report-2019.pdf\"><b>here<\/b><\/a>. (To see the Hypothes.is sidebar with the annotations, you must have Hypothes.is installed on your computer <b>and<\/b> you need click on the Hypothes.is icon on your browser when you have the report open.)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Task_2\">Task 2<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Imagine that this report is needed by various people in your company.
