Video can demonstrate how something is done, how a task is carried out, can tell a story and can help learners connect with what they are needing to learn about in their course.

When training in the workplace, you are able to demonstrate job skills directly. Creating demonstration videos gives your learner another opportunity to observe these job skills in there own time.

Readings

Readings can take the form of a document or can be written directly into learning systems. Readings are usually text-heavy and can be broken up by including images and graphic representations of information like charts, data and figures.
Readings can include instructions, which may be necessary for certain types of job roles like reading building plans, reading assembly instructions or reading recipes. They may also be in the form of a case study or a scenario that the learners can use to identify problems and develop solutions.

When working with learners who are trained in industry it is important to provide readings which are clear and concisely to the level of the learner.

Presentations

Presentations are beneficial when you are providing your learners with visual information.
Learners use presentation in a similar way to readings. This resource can incorporate other media elements like videos, graphics and more visual tools than found in readings alone.

You can also use presentations for your own benefit if you use a virtual classroom, video conferencing or narrated PowerPoints. You can create a sequence of slides to use as prompts to ensure that you have covered the topics that you have identified as Outcomes in your course.

You can use Microsoft PowerPoint or Google slides to create professional presentations.

Other tools

You can also use content already available on the internet.
