Make a copy of your essay. You can call it v5 for version 5 or anything that makes sense to you. The goal is to be able to see the progression of your essay from one step of the revision process to the next. If you prefer, you can also print a copy.
After examining the use of voice in your essay, prepare a blog post of approximately 300 words where you answer the following questions:
- Identify 2-3 sentences that you edited from passive to active voice.
- Using the concepts from the reading, explain how you modified the sentences.
- Do you find your essay has been improved by the process? Explain why?
Remember to tag (WordPress) or label (Blogger) your blog post using the course tag: Revising and polishing your writing/enga104/tag
Note that you can also record your reflections in a written journal, if you prefer, but sharing your insights with your classmates means that you can trigger a discussion that may lead to a deeper understanding as we can all benefit from each other’s experience.
