We will also compare the roles of different media and types of power exerted on society.<br style=\"clear:both;\"><br \/>\n<div class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"reflection\" src=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/lida100\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru_course\/idevices\/Icon_reflection.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>Reflection<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><b>Time to reach 100 million users worldwide<\/b><br \/>\nAccording to the Boston Consulting Group<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>, the time to reach 100 million users for the following technologies is reported as follows:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> <i>Telephone<\/i>: 75 years (1878)\n<\/li>\n<li> <i>Mobile phone<\/i>: 16 years (1979)\n<\/li>\n<li> <i>World Wide Web<\/i>: 7 years (1990)\n<\/li>\n<li> <i>Facebook<\/i>: 4 years and 6 months (2004)\n<\/li>\n<li> <i>WhatsApp<\/i>: 3 years and 4 months (2009)\n<\/li>\n<li> <i>Candy Crush Saga<\/i>: 1 year and 3 months (2012).\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They also report that for every 100 people in the world, there are:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> 95 mobile prescriptions\n<\/li>\n<li> 40 internet users\n<\/li>\n<li> 32 active broadband subscriptions\n<\/li>\n<li> 25 social media users.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"reading\" src=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/lida100\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru_course\/idevices\/Icon_reading.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>Evolution of media and power dynamics<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Consider the following questions:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> What roles do different types of media perform in society?\n<\/li>\n<li> What forms of power are exerted through different types of media over time?
