(Are they all accessible for download?)\n<\/li>\n<li> Find a pdf version of the editorial entitled: <i>Scholarship and literacies in a digital age<\/i> (Who are the authors?).\n<\/li>\n<li> Find the article with the following citation in text: <i>the term digital literacies is contested with differing uses of the term revealing competing and even contradictory theoretical perspectives<\/i> (Who is the author?)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> Visit the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/advanced_search\">Google Advanced Search<\/a> web interface:\n<ul>\n<li> Conduct a search for <i>digital literacies<\/i> and scan the results\n<\/li>\n<li> Go back to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/advanced_search\">Google Advanced Search<\/a> web interface and remove words from the search, for example &#8220;skills&#8221; or &#8220;school&#8221; and compare the results.\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on tools and find results for the date range 1 May 2016 to 1 May 2017\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on images and find versions which are licensed for reuse with modification (useful when sourcing images for your course blog with the necessary legal permissions for reuse).\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Outputs\">Outputs<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"web resources\" src=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/lida100\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru_course\/idevices\/Icon_inter.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>Resource bank activity<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><b>Purpose<\/b><br \/>\nTo find, summarise and share two open resources in support of your research project.<br \/>\n<b>Tasks<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Identify keywords from your draft research question or topic area. (See <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/library.ucsc.edu\/help\/research\/identify-keywords\">Identify Keywords<\/a> published by the University of California Santa Cruz, University Library.)\n<\/li>\n<li> Use your knowledge of Google advanced search operators to identify possible online resources in support of your research topic.\n<\/li>\n<li> Select the two best resources, log in to <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/bookmarks.oeru.org\/tags.php\/lida101\">bookmarks.oeru.org<\/a> and click on  &#8220;Add&#8221; link.\n<ul>\n<li> Complete the form adding the link, a short description and the <b>recommended tags below<\/b> for each resource. Be sure to mark your resource &#8220;Public&#8221;.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> If you have any questions, remember you can post these in the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/forums.oeru.org\/t\/lida101-general-forum-for-digital-literacies-for-online-learning\/132\">general course forum<\/a>. If you know the answer to any questions, please help your fellow learners by posting advice and suggestions.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Searching using Google Scholar<\/b><br \/>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/\">Google Scholar<\/a> (<a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/\">scholar.google.com<\/a>) is a good search engine to find scholarly publications. The downside is that Google Scholar does not distinguish between closed and open resources. However, search results which show a pdf next to the listing will probably provide access to a full text version.<br \/>\n<b>Unpaywall<\/b><br \/>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"http:\/\/unpaywall.org\/\">Unpaywall<\/a> is a free and legal way to identify authored-uploaded pdfs. There are extensions for the Chrome and Firefox open source browsers.
