Then, you will turn your attention to the notion of economic growth, which is one of three major goals with full employment and price level stability. Finally, you will conclude your introductory overview of the principles of macroeconomics by gaining an understanding of the concepts of unemployment and inflation and their impact on society.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"What_will_I_learn.3F\">What will I learn?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In this course, you will learn to:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> identify and describe a variety of key macroeconomic indices.\n<\/li>\n<li> calculate and interpret a variety of key macroeconomic indices.\n<\/li>\n<li> examine how they are use to calculate the status of an economic system.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"What.E2.80.99s_involved.3F\">What\u2019s involved?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Participants will join an international community of learners interested in gaining understanding and mastery of the fundamentals of macroeconomics. Largely self-directed and self-paced, the course will, if learners wish, lead to credits from an affiliated institution.\n<\/p>\n<p>The course will be offered as a micro open online course comprising a number of learning activities and resources. It is to be viewed as part of a larger Principles of macroeconomics course of study, coupled with MAEC102 and 103.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"What_prerequisites_should_I_have.2C_if_any.3F\">What prerequisites should I have, if any?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Anyone is free to participate in this course. An internet connection and basic web browsing skills are recommended with the ability to self motivate and direct.\n<\/p>\n<p>Learners aiming to submit assessments for formal academic credit will need to meet the normal university admission requirements of the conferring institution (e.g., language proficiency and school leaving certificates).
