OERu courses can help you get there! Our courses are developed by recognised universities, polytechnics and community colleges and designed for formal academic credit.\n<\/p>\n<p>Our partner institutes offer qualifications through the OERu network of the same academic standing as traditional courses offered on-campus.\n<\/p>\n<p>Some of our partners provide optional assessment services towards formal academic credit.\n<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll receive your credential from the OERu partner institute you choose for your studies.\n<\/p>\n<p>The first qualification that our network of academic institutes offers is the Bachelor of General Studies (or equivalent).\n<\/p>\n<p>Individual courses may also be recognised as transfer credit for a wide range of qualifications offered by our partners.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"plainlinks\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600px\" height=\"400px\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F4q3CjOQARI?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Three_ways_to_engage_in_an_OERu_course\">Three ways to engage in an OERu course<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li> <b>Self-directed interest:<\/b> Learners in this category select concepts, topics and activities during the course according to personal interests. You can sip and dip into sections of the course which you find interesting. Many learners in this category participate actively during all sessions of the course, however there are no minimum participation requirements for self-interest learners.\n<\/li>\n<li> <b>Certification for active participation: <\/b>Most OERu courses offer certification for participation, based on the achieving the minimum participation requirements for each course. Participation is usually measured by the interactions you post and selected activities you complete during a course. Check the course details to find out more about this certification option for your selected courses.\n<\/li>\n<li> <b>Learning for credit: <\/b>A unique feature of the OERu is that you can submit your work for formal assessment on a \u2018fee for service basis\u2019 from designated OERu partners. Successful students will carry academic credit towards the specified course credits. Our partner institutions normally issue a \u2018Certificate of Achievement\u2019.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Online_Education\">Online Education<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Online, open-source and independent \u2013 OERu courses are designed with you in mind. All our courses are:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>taught online. As long as you have an internet connection, you\u2019re good to go!\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>based on open educational resources and openly accessible materials on the Internet. This means you won\u2019t need to buy any textbooks.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>designed for independent study.
