Badgr issues and supports <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/support.badgr.com\/portal\/kb\/articles\/what-are-open-badges\">open badges<\/a>, which maximise their flexibility and usefulness for learners. The following instructions apply to Badgr &#8211; if you wish to use another badging platform, please look at that platform&#8217;s website for instructions.\n<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Create_your_Badgr_account\">Create your Badgr account<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>(Omit this step if you already have a Badgr account.)\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> In your browser, go to <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external free\" href=\"https:\/\/info.badgr.com\/\">https:\/\/info.badgr.com\/<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li> Click <b>Create account<\/b> at top right of the Badgr home page. (See area circled in green in image below.)\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Badgr_create_account_button.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Badgr create account button.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/8\/8d\/Badgr_create_account_button.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"76\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li> Select <b>United States<\/b> as your <b>region<\/b> (this is necessary, wherever in the world you are actually based, to make the connection with OERu Moodle work), then click <b>Save and continue<\/b>. (See image below.)\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Badgr_select_region_screen.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Badgr select region screen.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/e\/e5\/Badgr_select_region_screen.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"491\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li> On the <b>Welcome to Badgr (US)<\/b> screen that appears, enter your <b>email address<\/b> and click <b>Continue<\/b>.\n<\/li>\n<li> You will see a screen asking you to enter a verification code. (See image below.)\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Mu-Badgr_verification_code.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mu-Badgr verification code.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/2\/21\/Mu-Badgr_verification_code.jpg\" width=\"356\" height=\"244\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li> Shortly afterwards, you should receive an automated email from Badgr, telling you what the verification code is &#8211; type this code into the boxes on the screen.\n<ul>\n<li> Note: If you do not receive the email from Badgr, check your junk mail folder. If it is not there, contact your email provider or your organisation&#8217;s IT department to see if the email has been excluded by a spam filter.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> Follow the instructions on screen to complete the creation of your new Badgr account.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Connect_your_OERu_Moodle_account_with_Badgr\">Connect your OERu Moodle account with Badgr<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li> Log in to <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external free\" href=\"https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\">https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<li> # Click on your name or picture at the top right of your Moodle screen.\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on <b>Preferences<\/b> in the drop-down menu that appears (as shown in the image in the previous section).\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on <b>Backpack settings<\/b> under the <b>Badges<\/b> heading. (See image below.)\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Moodle_preferences_backpack.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Moodle preferences backpack.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/1\/16\/Moodle_preferences_backpack.jpg\" width=\"474\" height=\"172\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li> On the backpack settings page, enter the email address and password that you used for your Badgr account and click <b>Connect to backpack<\/b>. (See image below).\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Connecting_backpack_Moodle.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Connecting backpack Moodle.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/e\/e2\/Connecting_backpack_Moodle.jpg\" width=\"514\" height=\"298\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li> You will see a screen saying <i>Verification pending<\/i> and an email will be sent to you.\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on the link in the email to confirm and activate the connection to your Badgr backpack.\n<\/li>\n<li> You will be taken back to your Moodle account (you may need to log in again) and will see a screen confirming your Badgr backpack connection.\n<\/li>\n<li> Return to the <b>Manage badges<\/b> screen (via <b>Preferences<\/b> again).\n<\/li>\n<li> Click the small briefcase icon under each badge to add it to your Badgr backpack.
