In this period we see the beginnings of many of the social, political, cultural, technological and economic changes that created the modern world. In this course you can examine key developments in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries from a comparative, global perspective.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"What_will_I_learn.3F\">What will I learn?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In this micro course you will:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn about the Atlantic World and global networks of exchange\n<\/li>\n<li>Examine the conflicts and changing balance of power in this period\n<\/li>\n<li>Learn how the slave trade operated\n<\/li>\n<li>Discover how colonies and empires were built\n<\/li>\n<li>Learn how the Enlightenment created new ways of thinking about society\n<\/li>\n<li>Find out about the political, scientific and industrial revolutions during this period\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"What.27s_involved.3F\">What&#8217;s involved?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are 10 learning pathways each containing multiple resources, such as videos, readings and primary source material.
