This lecture will help you understand the rapid decolonization that occurred in the aftermath of World War Two. Professor Sir Richard Evans explores the factors that led to decolonization in Asia and Africa. He explores the role of the anti-imperialism of the new world powers, the US and the USSR, and the role of nationalism amongst colonized peoples. He also considers how decolonization changed the world order, and reflects on the legacy of empires.\n<\/p>\n
