Now we’ll dig deeper into the content and the differences between academic writing, regular writing and the different types of academic styles. The purpose of this learning challenge is to:

• Ensure you understand the differences between the academic writing and other types of writing.
• Make you think how to identify different types of academic writing so your essays match the type of work required.
• Consider your weaknesses as a writer and how you might be able to improve them.
