When we train in industry, workplace relevant tasks are the starting point for what learners will do and wherever possible training happens within this context. We link learning to what learners will be doing at work and think of the normal progression of learning over time from novice to experienced worker. We are using a similar approach here in this course.

This course will step you through how to design and develop a blend of learning activities – with some to be done in the workplace and others to be done at a distance from the campus, both online and offline. As you work through your project, we provide a framework to help you select appropriate activities for different types of learning outcomes, how to videos, and checklists to assure quality. We encourage you to return to the learning resources as you develop a the activities for your course.

The first step is to identify a project relevant to your work. For many of you this will be your Skills in Demand project.
Second you will complete the Activities section of your OARAS.
Then you will create meaningful activities for your course and continue to improve on your practice – practice makes perfect.
