Dear CSF101 participants

Congratulations on making it to Session 4 on Defining sustainability and sustainable development. You are on the home straight.

These instructions are for Wednesday 17 to Thursday 18 August 2016.

The instructions for the previous Sessions can be found on the course site.

Defining sustainability and sustainable development

Having a common language will enable us to remove ambiguity about what sustainable development is. You don’t have to know all the laws of chemistry, physics and biology to understand ecological success, but a basic definition of sustainability uses these. We introduce human needs and trust as a fabulous way to provide a cross cultural language of social sustainability.
