Elaborative, effortful processing improves recall. One of the best ways to engage in elaborative, effortful processing is to re-organize information that you are trying to learn. A concept map is a visual representation of concepts and ideas, and how they are related to each other. Effortful processing is also best when it is self-generated and idiosyncratic.

Using either a mind-mapping tool like Bubbl.us (no login required) or a paper and pencil, draw a concept map that represents the concepts from the two memory learning pathways.

You can either record your efforts in your private learning journal or you can make your learning public on your blog by using the hastags #IPSY103 #MapsofMemory. Using these hashtags will allow WEnotes to harvest your contribution and add them to the Course feed.
