Dear Student,
Welcome to World History: Imperialism and War. We’re delighted you’ve decided to further your education by undertaking this course!
World History: Imperialism and War covers a period of unprecedented global development and interconnectedness. During the nineteenth century, imperialism led to the colonisation of vast swathes of territory – Great Britain’s colonies alone covered a quarter of the globe. Competition between the Great Powers was one of the many factors that contributed to World War One, the first global conflict. The devastation caused by this conflict, however, failed to prevent the seeds of further conflict growing in the post-war period. In this course, you can learn about all these developments, and more.
The course website for World History: Imperialism and War is http://course.oeru.org/whme102/ and we suggest you bookmark this page.
