Scheduling activities

The purpose of this learning pathway is to learn how to schedule the sequence of activities taking dependencies into account and to produce a visual representation of the time allocations.

We will do this by exploring key concepts and components. A case study is provided that demonstrates the concepts by applying them to the planning for a wedding.

The discipline of project management is best learned by doing. The learning pathway concludes with a learning challenge where you are tasked to produce your own Gantt chart for your selected project.



At the end of this learning pathway you will be able to:

  • Identify necessary activities
  • Recognise dependencies between activities
  • Develop and explain the logical sequence of events
  • Create a visual schedule (Gantt chart) for a specific project
